Metallic Epoxy Design Coat – High Gloss Marble Effect Floor Resin

Create a distinctive metallic or marble effect floor with this two-part clear epoxy design coat. Designed as Step 2 of a three-stage metallic epoxy flooring system, the high-viscosity resin can be mixed with your chosen metallic pigments to produce unique colours, flowing patterns and decorative finishes.

Three-Step Metallic Epoxy Flooring System

Step 1 – Metallic Epoxy Base Coat
Prepares, seals and primes the floor while establishing the background colour. Choose from white, grey or black to complement your decorative design.

Step 2 – Metallic Epoxy Design Coat
A two-part clear epoxy resin mixed with metallic pigments to create your chosen colour scheme and marble effect patterns.

Step 3 – Metallic Protective Top Coat
Completes the flooring system with a protective finish. Options include an easy-to-apply, single-pack water-based top coat or a two-part, high-gloss UV-resistant top coat for a more robust finish in areas with high foot traffic.

The base coat and protective top coat are required to complete the system and should be ordered separately.

Colour Options and Pigment Quantities

Choose a single metallic shade or combine multiple colours to create a personalised finish. Every application produces its own distinctive pattern.

Application Instructions

Apply at an ambient temperature of at least 7°C. The floor must be thoroughly prepared and treated with the appropriate base coat before applying the design coat.

1. Mix the resin: Pour the entire contents of Part B into Part A. Mix thoroughly using a drill-mounted mixing paddle until the curing agent is fully dispersed and the mixture has a uniform consistency.
2. Add the pigment: Add the supplied pigment to the mixed resin and blend thoroughly until the colour and texture are uniform.
3. Apply the first design coat: Hold the container close to the floor and pour the mixture across the surface. Spread evenly using a roller.
4. Allow to cure: Leave for up to 24 hours before proceeding with additional decorative colours.
5. Prepare additional colours: Repeat the mixing process using complete units, then pour the additional colours onto the floor in your chosen decorative pattern.
6. Create the design: Use a roller or squeegee to distribute the resin evenly and develop the desired metallic or marble effect. A squeegee is not included.
7. Apply the protective top coat: Allow the design coat to cure for approximately 24 hours, or until it is no longer tacky, before applying the compatible top coat.

Sanding between coats may be required to achieve an extra-smooth finish. Refer to the product technical datasheet for preparation, sanding and recoating guidance.

Important Application Notes

• Use complete units: Do not split the contents of the resin and curing-agent containers into smaller batches, as this may affect curing.
• Not self-levelling: This product is applied by roller as a paint.
• Use fresh roller sleeves: A new roller sleeve is required for each coat.
• Light colour variation: White and lighter-coloured systems may experience minor discolouration.
• Curing times vary: Temperature and site conditions can affect curing. Follow the technical datasheet before recoating or bringing the floor into use.
