Description
A tall wedge with nothing hollow inside. This chock has no core, so the rubber is solid from the ramp to the base. It stands about 205mm high, slides under the tyre on a thin toe and climbs the tread on a stepped ramp, with a 44-tonne maximum vehicle weight. A steel eye-bolt at the back takes a rope if you want one. Choose it for chocks that are in use every day. The price is for one chock.

Why this chock works
Solid rubber throughout. With no hollow core, more rubber sits under the load, which is why it costs a little more than the cored version.
A tall ramp for a big tyre. At about 205mm high, the ramp reaches well up the tread, and if the wheel starts to roll it bears down on the chock and presses it into the ground.
Stepped ribs across the ramp. A row of square ribs gives the tyre edges to bear against instead of a smooth face.
Eye-bolt at the back. Fit a rope so you can pull the chock clear without reaching in beside the wheel. The rope is not included.
No test standard or slope rating is published for this line. If your specification needs a tested chock, call us before you order.
Where it is used
Use it at busy loading bays, in haulage and freight yards, on trailers parked up for loading, and in workshops when a vehicle is stood for repair.

How to use it safely
- Apply the parking brake, stop the engine and take the keys out.
- Push the toe under the tyre until the ramp is hard against the tread. The flat back faces away from the wheel.
- On a slope, chock the downhill side first. Use a second chock on the other side of the tyre.
- Before removing the chocks, make sure nearby vehicle movements have stopped and everyone is clear.
- Take the chocks away before the vehicle moves, and never drive over one.
HSE guidance says chocks should be brightly coloured so they can be seen, and this one is black. On a busy site, choose a yellow chock or make it easier to spot in line with your risk assessment. A chock backs up the parking brake and does not replace it.
Which chock do you need?
| Your situation | Choose |
|---|---|
| A tall wedge in solid rubber | This chock |
| The same wedge, cored, for a lower price | 230 x 160 x 205mm cored chock |
| A lower, wider block in solid rubber | 235 x 200 x 150mm solid chock |
| 44 tonnes in yellow rubber | 280 x 196 x 186mm yellow chock |
Care
Check each chock before use and replace it if the rubber is split or the eye-bolt is loose. Wipe off oil and grease, as these attack SBR rubber over time.
Frequently asked questions
Is the price for one chock or a pair?
The price is for one chock. Set the quantity to 2 if you want one each side of the tyre, which is the usual choice for a trailer being loaded or parked on a slope.
Is a rope included?
No. The eye-bolt is fitted, ready for a rope of your choice if you want one.
Which way round does it go?
The thin toe goes under the tyre and the ribbed ramp sits against the tread. The flat back with the eye-bolt faces away from the wheel.
Is there a holder to keep it on the vehicle or a wall?
Yes. Our 230mm yellow steel holder and 245mm yellow steel holder both fit this chock. They are sold separately.
Can I tie it to a wall?
Yes. Our galvanised chain clips to the eye-bolt, and a pivot lashing ring fixes the other end to a wall. Both are sold separately.
