Description
The same low, wide HGV chock, with no hollow core. This one is solid rubber throughout, which gives it a longer expected life than the cored version, so it suits chocks moved on and off wheels all day. It carries a 44-tonne maximum vehicle weight, has ribs along both sloped faces and weighs 5 to 5.5kg. The price is for one chock.

Why this chock works
Solid for a longer life. With no core, there is more rubber to wear through. It is the one to choose for a busy dock where a chock gets used many times a shift.
Low and stable. A 200mm base and about 150mm height keep the weight low, and the wide footprint resists tipping.
Ribbed on both slopes. Rounded ribs run along both sloped faces, so either side can go against the tyre.
Eye-bolt at one end. The steel eye-bolt gives you something to grip, or a point to tie a rope to.
No test standard or slope rating is published for this line. If your specification needs a tested chock, call us before you order.
Where it is used
Use it at high-turnover loading bays, in freight terminals and tanker depots, and in fleet yards where chocks get daily use and rough handling.

How to use it safely
- Apply the parking brake, stop the engine and take the keys out.
- Push a sloped face hard against the tyre tread, with the long side across the tyre.
- On a slope, chock the downhill side first. Use a second chock on the other side of the tyre.
- Before removing the chocks, make sure nearby vehicle movements have stopped and everyone is clear.
- Take the chocks away before the vehicle moves, and never drive over one.
HSE guidance says chocks should be brightly coloured so they can be seen, and this one is black. On a busy site, choose a yellow chock or make it easier to spot in line with your risk assessment. A chock backs up the parking brake and does not replace it.
Which chock do you need?
| Your situation | Choose |
|---|---|
| Low block shape, constant daily use | This solid chock |
| The same shape, lighter and cheaper | 235 x 200 x 150mm cored chock |
| A taller wedge in solid rubber | 230 x 160 x 205mm solid chock |
| 44 tonnes in yellow rubber | 280 x 196 x 186mm yellow chock |
Care
Check each chock before use and replace it if the rubber is split. Wipe off oil and grease, as these attack SBR rubber over time.
Frequently asked questions
Is the price for one chock or a pair?
The price is for one chock. Set the quantity to 2 if you want one each side of the tyre.
Solid or cored?
Solid has a longer expected life and costs a little more. Cored is lighter and cheaper, which suits chocks used less often.
Does it need fixing down?
No. It is free-standing and moved by hand each time.
