Description
A three channel lidded cable ramp for larger cables and hoses, rated to 12 tonnes per axle. This heavy rubber ramp section carries up to three cables or hoses across a road or yard under a bright yellow hinged lid. The two outer channels are about 70mm wide and the centre channel about 55mm wide, all 50mm deep, so it takes thicker power cables and pump hoses than slimmer multi-channel ramps. The section is 970mm long, 590mm wide and 80mm high, and sections click together to cover any width of crossing. It is for temporary use, with traffic kept to 5 mph. Each section weighs about 24kg. The price is for one section.
Why this ramp works
Wide channels for thick cables. Two 70mm outer channels and a 55mm centre channel take heavy generator leads, armoured cable and flexible pump hoses up to about 50mm across.
Built for vehicles. The heavy rubber base is rated for 12 tonnes per vehicle axle, so cars, vans and lorries can cross at 5 mph or less.
Change cables without lifting the ramp. The yellow lid hinges up along one edge. Add or remove a cable while the ramps stay in place.
Clicks together. Lugs on one end fit the slots on the next section, so a run stays in line. Tapered end pieces are available to finish each end of a run.
Can be fixed down. Four holes in the rubber slopes take M12 fixings if you want to pin a run in place for a job. Fixings are not included.

Where it is used
Use it on building site haul roads and entrances, at festivals and events to bring generator power across service roads, for temporary pumping, dewatering and over-pumping across yards and lanes, in depots and car parks, and at film and TV locations. Anywhere a few thick cables or hoses have to cross a road that vehicles use, it protects them and gives a smooth crossing.

Sizes are approximate. Rubber can shrink slightly as it cures, so allow a few millimetres either way.
Choosing the right ramp
Count your cables and measure the thickest. This ramp suits up to three thick cables or hoses. For more but thinner cables, the five channel ramp has five 35mm channels in the same size of section.

How to lay it
- Choose firm, level ground. Do not let the ramp bridge over holes or soft ground.
- Lift the lid and lay one cable or hose in each channel you need.
- Close the lid, making sure no cable is trapped under the edge.
- Click further sections on with the end lugs until the road is covered, and finish with end pieces if you have them.
- Pin it with M12 fixings if needed, and put signs in place to slow traffic to 5 mph.
Care
Wash off mud and grit with water. Check the lid hinge and end lugs before each use. Replace a section if the lid cracks or will not close flat. At 24kg each, lift with care and store sections flat.
Frequently asked questions
Can lorries drive over it?
Yes, up to 12 tonnes per vehicle axle at 5 mph or less, with signs in place. It is not suitable for forklift trucks or tracked vehicles.
How many sections do I need?
Each section covers about 970mm of road. Divide the width of the crossing by 0.97 and round up. A 4m gateway needs 5 sections.
Will a 2 inch pump hose fit?
A round hose up to about 50mm across fits the channels, which are 50mm deep. Check the outside diameter of your hose, including any couplings that have to pass through.
Can I leave it down permanently?
No. It is made for temporary use. For a permanent crossing, cables should be routed in a proper duct.
