A five channel lidded cable ramp for vehicle crossings, rated to 12 tonnes per axle. This heavy rubber ramp section carries up to five cables or hoses across a road or yard under a bright yellow hinged lid. Each channel is 35mm wide and 50mm deep. The section is 960mm long, 590mm wide and 80mm high, with long rubber slopes on both sides so vehicles roll over it smoothly at walking pace. Sections click together end to end to cover any width of crossing. It is for temporary use, with traffic kept to 5 mph. Each section weighs about 21kg. The price is for one section.

Why this ramp works

Five channels in one crossing. Run power, data, water and air lines side by side, each in its own channel, so they do not rub or tangle.

Built for vehicles. The heavy rubber base is rated for up to 12 tonnes per axle, so cars, vans and lorries can cross at 5 mph or less.

Change cables without lifting the ramp. The yellow lid hinges up along one edge. Add or remove a cable while the ramps stay in place.

Clicks together. Two lugs on one end fit the slots on the next section, so a run stays in line across the crossing.

Can be fixed down. Four holes in the rubber slopes take M12 fixings if you want to pin a run in place for the duration of a job. Fixings are not included.

Where it is used

Use it at building site entrances and haul roads, at festivals and outdoor events to bring generator power across service roads, in car parks, yards and depots, at film and TV locations, and for temporary pumping and dewatering. Anywhere a bundle of cables or hoses has to cross a road that vehicles use, it protects them and gives a smooth crossing.

Specifications

Sizes are approximate. Rubber can shrink slightly as it cures, so allow a few millimetres either way.

Choosing the right ramp

Count your cables and measure the thickest. This ramp takes up to five, each up to about 35mm across, and is rated for vehicle traffic. For fewer or smaller cables, a lighter ramp may be all you need.

How to lay it

1. Choose firm, level ground. Do not let the ramp bridge over holes or soft ground.
2. Lift the lid and lay one cable or hose in each channel you need.
3. Close the lid, making sure no cable is trapped under the edge.
4. Click further sections on with the end lugs until the road is covered.
5. Pin it with M12 fixings if needed, and put signs in place to slow traffic to 5 mph.

Care

Wash off mud and grit with water. Check the lid hinge and end lugs before each use. Replace a section if the lid cracks or will not close flat. At 21kg each, lift with care and store sections flat.
