Description
A simple steel grip for a big chock, at a lower price than our cast handle. This yellow mild steel hand grip has an M16 thread and fits our large 300mm and 400mm chocks and all of our aircraft chocks. It measures about 120 x 85 x 75mm and weighs about 0.5kg, so it adds very little to the weight of the chock. The price is for one grip. The threaded bar and the washer and nut are not included.
Why fit a grip
A firm hold on a heavy chock. Our large chocks weigh about 16 to 22kg. A steel grip gives you something better to hold than rubber, including with gloves on.
Light and low cost. It is lighter than our cast steel handle at about 0.5kg, which helps if you are fitting a whole set of chocks.

How to fit it
- Pass M16 threaded bar through the hole in the chock. We list a 430mm M16 bar. Check it suits the length of your chock.
- Wind the grip onto one end of the bar.
- Fit a washer and nut at the other end.
- Tighten so the grip sits firm against the rubber.
Frequently asked questions
Does it come with the bar?
No, the grip is sold on its own. You also need M16 threaded bar, a washer and a nut.
Will it fit my smaller chock?
It is made for chocks with a hole running through them: our 300mm and 400mm chocks and our aircraft chocks. If you have a different chock, call us on 01744 520 110.
