Description
A low, broad pad at under half a kilo. This pad sits on the chassis of a tipping body as a rubbing pad, so the body comes down on rubber instead of steel. That helps reduce noise and prevent expensive damage and wear to the bodywork and paintwork. Its aluminium base keeps the weight to about 0.42kg, roughly 45% lighter than the steel base version of the same size. It measures about 152 x 88 x 28mm overall. The price is for one pad.
Why this pad works
A broad contact area. The rubber block is about 100mm long and 86mm wide, so the body has a wide seat to land on.
Aluminium base. The 5mm aluminium plate is the lighter choice, and aluminium does not rust.
Low profile. At about 28mm overall, it suits a small gap between the body and the rail. If yours is bigger, look at the 43mm version.

Use it on the chassis of tipper lorries, tipping trailers and other tipping bodies, whether you are building new or replacing worn pads during a service.

How to fit it
- Raise the body and prop it safely before you work under it.
- Mark where the body meets the chassis rail.
- Fix the base flat on the rail with the rubber facing up, as your body builder advises.
- Lower the body slowly and check that it lands square on the rubber.

Care
Check the pad when you service the vehicle, and replace it if the rubber is split or worn down. SBR rubber does not resist oil or fuel well, so keep the pad clear of leaks and grease.
