Description
All the HGV rating, at a fraction of the weight. A rubber HGV chock can weigh 4 to 6kg. This one weighs about 2kg, so you can carry a pair in one hand and keep them on the vehicle without noticing. It is bright yellow, which makes it easy to spot, and it has a 44-tonne maximum load. It is made to DIN 76051-53, the standard for chocks on motor vehicles, semi-trailers and towing vehicles. The price is for one chock.

Why this chock works
Light enough to keep on the truck. At about 2kg, it adds next to nothing to the vehicle, and drivers are more likely to use a chock that isn't a chore to fetch.
A long curved ramp. At 460mm long, it is the largest chock we sell for HGVs. The thin toe slides under the tyre and the ramp follows the curve of the tread up to about 220mm.
Bright yellow. HSE guidance says chocks should be brightly coloured so drivers and workers can see them, and this one is easy to spot on tarmac or concrete.
Made to a named standard. DIN 76051-53 is the German standard for vehicle chocks. If your specification asks for it, ask us for confirmation when you order.
Where it is used
Use it on HGVs and articulated trailers that carry their own chocks, in truck parks and at loading bays, and for drivers who chock their vehicle at every drop. Being plastic, it also suits anyone who finds rubber chocks too heavy to handle all day.

How to use it safely
- Apply the parking brake, stop the engine and take the keys out.
- Push the toe under the tyre until the ramp is hard against the tread.
- On a slope, chock the downhill side first. Use a second chock on the other side of the tyre.
- Before removing the chocks, make sure nearby vehicle movements have stopped and everyone is clear.
- Take the chocks away before the vehicle moves, and never drive over one.
Plastic is lighter than rubber but can crack if run over or struck hard, so check it before each use and replace it if damaged. A chock backs up the parking brake and does not replace it.

Frequently asked questions
Is the price for one chock or a pair?
The price is for one chock. Set the quantity to 2 if you want one each side of the tyre.
Is a plastic chock as good as rubber?
It carries the same 44-tonne maximum load at under half the weight, which suits chocks carried on the vehicle. Rubber is heavier but better suited to chocks that take knocks around a busy yard.
Can it be stored on the trailer?
Yes. Our black steel holder with spring clip is made for this chock and fixes to truck or trailer bodywork. It is sold separately.
