A 50 metre roll of solid opaque blue PVC strip for privacy and blackout curtains, screens and coloured warning strips. Blue PVC blocks both light and view completely, so it hides stores, processes and work areas, and it is the colour many sites choose to frame vehicle doors or mark walkways through a wide clear curtain. Cut the roll into strips to your own drops for a full curtain, or add a few blue strips to the outer edges of an existing clear curtain. Two sizes, 200mm x 2mm and 300mm x 3mm, each priced in full inc VAT.

Why blue PVC

Total screening and blackout. The solid blue PVC blocks light as well as view, which suits stores, dark rooms, privacy screens and areas that need the light kept out.

Warning and marker strips. A band of blue strips at each edge of a clear forklift curtain shows drivers and pedestrians exactly where the opening is, and a blue band in the middle can mark a walkway.

A distinct colour. Blue stands out against white walls and stainless steel and is easy to tell apart from clear and white strips around site.

Still a working curtain. Like clear PVC, the strips hold back draughts, dust and noise and help keep heated or cooled areas at temperature.

Be aware. People cannot see through opaque strips. On doors with forklifts or two-way traffic, use blue at the edges and clear strips through the middle so people can see who is coming.

Stores and back-of-house doors, food and catering premises, workshops and factory partitions, dark rooms and light-sensitive processes, pest control screens, and edge warning bands on warehouse and loading bay curtains.

Choosing your size

Choose 200mm for pedestrian doors and 300mm for wider doors, warehouse openings and pallet truck traffic. Match the size and thickness of your existing strips if you are adding blue edge strips to a clear curtain.

How far does a roll go?

Strips needed = opening width divided by (strip width minus overlap), rounded up, plus one. For edge warning strips you only need three or so strips at each side: on a 4m high door, six 300mm blue strips use 24m, leaving 26m on the roll for a second door.

Cutting and fitting

Unroll the PVC on a clean flat surface and let it relax overnight in a warm room. Cut each strip square with a sharp utility knife against a steel straight edge, punch or drill the hanging holes to suit your plates or rail, hang with the overlap you need and trim the foot so it clears the floor. Wash with warm soapy water; avoid solvent cleaners.
