Description
A twin track curtain is easy to repair: undo two, three or four nuts, swap the strip and clamp it back. The hard part is getting a strip cut and drilled to match. These are. Clear PVC strips for aluminium twin track rails, cut to the length you choose and drilled with the hanging holes for the fixing plate, ready to clamp on with the plate, nuts and bolts from your old strip. Choose 200mm, 300mm or 400mm wide in 2mm, 3mm or 4mm thick, from 1 metre up to 3, 5 or 10 metres long depending on the width. The price shown is per strip and includes VAT.
Is my rail twin track?
A twin track rail is a slim aluminium extrusion with two parallel grooves along its face, fixed above the opening on L-shaped brackets. Each strip is clamped to it under its own flat aluminium fixing plate, held by bolts that slide in the grooves. If your strips hang from hooks, see our hook-on clear strips. Which size do I need?
Match the strips already on your rail. Measure the width of an old strip, or count the bolts across its fixing plate: on our strips, 200mm strips take 2 bolts, 300mm take 3 and 400mm take 4. When you choose a size, the photo changes to show that plate. Then check the thickness: 2mm strips are soft and flexible, 4mm strips are heavy and stiff. Not sure? Choosing the length
Measure an old strip end to end. If it is damaged or stretched, measure from the top edge under the fixing plate to just above the floor. Lengths go up in 100mm steps to 3 metres, then in 500mm steps. For an exact length, choose the next size up, then trim the bottom of the strip with a sharp knife against a straight edge. For a length in between on a tall door, or more than 10 metres, call us for a quote.

Fitting and safety
Loosen the nuts on the fixing plate holding the worn strip, slide the strip off the bolts and lift the plate away. Push the holes in the new strip over the bolts, put the plate back over the top edge, and tighten the nuts evenly so the strip is clamped flat. Check it overlaps the strips either side as before: on a twin track rail the bolts can slide along the grooves, so you can set any overlap you like. Strips are delivered rolled, so a slight curl at the bottom is normal and drops out in time. Unrolling them flat overnight before fitting helps. On a high rail, work from a safe platform such as a podium step, never from the forks of a truck.
Twin track rails suit people, trolleys and pallet trucks. For doors with regular or heavy forklift traffic, a swivel hinge rail is the stronger choice, because each strip swings on its own hinge. For busy pallet truck doors, our twin track ribbed strips resist scuffing and clamp onto the same rail. Keep vehicle speeds low through any strip curtain, and replace strips that have gone cloudy or scratched so people can see each other through it.
Frequently asked questions
Are the fixing plates included?
No. The strips come cut and drilled, and you re-use the plate, nuts and bolts from the strip you are replacing. If you need new plates, call 01744 520 110.
Can I make a new curtain with these?
Yes, if you already have a twin track rail and fixing plates. Work out the number of strips from the width of the opening and the overlap you want, and call us if you would like us to check the numbers.
Can I use them outside?
The PVC has anti-UV filters, but every strip lasts longer and stays clearer when it is fitted inside the opening, sheltered from the weather.
Can I use them in a freezer?
No. Standard clear PVC is recommended for 0°C to +40°C and stiffens below freezing. For freezers, choose our twin track freezer strips, polar grade PVC that stays flexible down to -24°C.
Do you do black or red strips?
Yes. Our twin track black or red strips come in the same widths and clamp onto the same rail, so you can hang red strips at the edges of a clear curtain to mark the doorway, or screen a doorway off with black.
Why is there a minimum order?
Strips are cut and drilled to order, so the minimum order is 10 strips. If you need fewer, call 01744 520 110.
