Description
A 50 metre roll of 200mm x 2mm frosted PVC strip for privacy strip curtains, screened work areas and internal partitions. The frosted finish lets daylight and room light glow straight through, but blurs the view, so stock, processes and back-of-house areas are hidden from customers and passers-by while people on both sides can still see that someone is moving behind the strips. Cut strips to your own drops for new curtains or to replace worn frosted strips on an existing rail. The roll is priced in full inc VAT.

Why frosted PVC
Privacy without a wall. A frosted curtain screens a kitchen, packing bench or storage area from view in a way clear PVC cannot, and it costs a fraction of a partition wall or solid door.
Light still gets through. Unlike a solid screen, the strips pass light, so the area behind does not need extra lighting and the space feels open.
Safer than an opaque barrier. Shapes and movement still show through the frosted strips, so people walking through can tell when someone is coming the other way. That makes it a better choice than a solid screen on a route people use.
Still a working curtain. The strips hold back draughts, dust and some noise between zones, just like a clear strip curtain.
Where it is used
Restaurant and hotel kitchen doorways, back-of-house and stockroom doors in shops, packing and dispatch areas, internal factory partitions, staff and welfare areas, clinics and laboratories, and anywhere a process or stock needs screening from public view.
Choosing and planning
Size. This roll is 200mm wide and 2mm thick, light duty, for doorways up to about 3m high used mostly by people on foot and trolleys. For forklift routes or taller openings, use heavier clear or ribbed PVC.
How much you need. Strips needed = opening width divided by (strip width minus overlap), rounded up, plus one. With a 100mm overlap each strip adds 100mm of width. One 50m roll cut at a 2.2m drop gives 22 strips, enough to screen an opening about 2.3m wide.
| Drop | Strips from one 50m roll | Opening covered at 100mm overlap |
|---|---|---|
| 2.0m | 25 | about 2.6m |
| 2.2m | 22 | about 2.3m |
| 2.5m | 20 | about 2.1m |
| 3.0m | 16 | about 1.7m |

Cutting and fitting
Unroll the PVC on a clean flat surface and let it relax overnight in a warm room. Measure the drop from the underside of the rail to the floor, then cut each strip square with a sharp utility knife against a steel straight edge. Punch or drill the hanging holes to suit your plates or rail, hang the strips with a 100mm overlap, and trim the foot so it just clears the floor. Fit indoors where possible, out of constant direct sun. Wash with warm soapy water; avoid solvent cleaners.
Frequently asked questions
Can people see through it?
Not clearly. Light comes through and you can make out shapes and movement, but faces, stock and paperwork behind the strips are blurred.
Can I use it in a cold room or freezer?
It is rated from 0°C to +40°C, so it suits ambient areas and doorways. For freezers use polar grade PVC, which stays flexible down to -24°C.
Will it fit my existing frosted curtain?
Yes, in most cases. Cut strips to the same drop as your old ones and punch holes to match your plates or rail.
Can forklifts drive through it?
2mm frosted PVC is light duty, for pedestrians and trolleys. Busy forklift routes need thicker or ribbed PVC.
