Description
A tall, bright bollard that bends when it is hit and stands back up. This 1000mm flexible bollard marks out lanes, walkways and no-go areas where vehicles and people share the same ground. The post is fluorescent orange polyurethane with four high-intensity reflective bands set into it, so it shows up in daylight and picks up headlights at night. When a car or forklift catches it, the post bends over and returns upright instead of snapping, which keeps damage to the bollard and the vehicle down. It bolts to the ground through a 200mm round base moulded in one piece with the post. It weighs about 1.7kg and the price is for one bollard.

Why a flexible bollard works
It bends instead of breaking. A steel post stops a vehicle and dents it. This polyurethane post folds over under a bump and springs back, so a clipped bollard usually needs no replacing and the vehicle comes away with a scuff rather than a repair bill.
It is seen from a distance. At a metre tall it stands above bumper height and in a driver's line of sight. The fluorescent orange body and four reflective bands make it stand out against grey tarmac and concrete, in daylight and under headlights.
One piece from base to cap. The post and its 200mm base are moulded together, so there is no joint to work loose. The published bearing capacity is 20,000kg.
Bolt heads sit out of the way. Each of the 3 fixing holes has a 30mm wide recess 21mm deep, so the bolt heads sit below the top of the base, out of the way of feet and tyres.
Light and quick to fit. At about 1.7kg one person can carry several and fit them with a drill and three bolts each.
Where it is used
Use it to split entry and exit lanes at car park barriers, to mark the edge of pedestrian walkways in warehouses and yards, to keep vehicles off kerbs, verges and footpaths, and to guard building corners, EV chargers, gate posts and loading bay edges. It also marks out one-way systems, drop-off zones and drive-throughs.

How to fit it
- Choose a flat, sound concrete or tarmac surface. Loose block paving and gravel will not hold the fixings.
- Stand the bollard where you want it and mark all 3 holes.
- Drill and fit 3 M10 or M12 through bolts (also called wedge anchors), with washers that fit inside the 30mm recesses.
- Tighten evenly so the base sits flat with no rocking.
- Check the bolts after the first week, then now and then, especially in busy lanes.
Which one do you need?
| Your situation | Choose |
|---|---|
| A tall, bright marker that survives knocks | This 1000mm orange flexible bollard |
| A shorter flexible bollard in the same orange | 750mm flexible bollard |
| A heavier 800mm moulded bollard | 800mm heavy duty bollard |
| A rigid post to stop a vehicle | 89 x 1000mm steel bollard or 114 x 1000mm steel bollard |
| Fixings for this bollard | M12 x 80mm through bolts, pack of 2, so 2 packs per bollard |
Care
Wash the post with water and mild detergent to keep the orange and the reflective bands bright, since dirt dulls the reflection at night. Check the bolts now and then. Replace the bollard if the post splits, stays bent or the reflective bands peel away.
Frequently asked questions
Will it stop a car?
No. It is made to bend, not to stop a vehicle. It marks a line and warns drivers off. Where a vehicle must be stopped, use a steel bollard set into concrete.
What happens if a vehicle drives over it?
The post folds down and returns upright once the vehicle has passed. The published bearing capacity is 20,000kg. Repeated run-overs will wear it faster, so place it where hits are occasional.
Are fixings included?
No. You need 3 fixings per bollard. M10 or M12 through bolts pass through the 13mm holes. Our M12 x 80mm through bolts come in packs of 2.
Does it come in other colours or heights?
This 1000mm bollard is fluorescent orange only. For a shorter post in the same orange, see the 750mm flexible bollard.
