Description
In a doorway that forklifts and pallet trucks push through all day, flat clear PVC soon gets scuffed and cloudy. Ribbed strips are made for that kind of traffic. Raised ribs run the full length of these clear PVC strips. Loads ride on the ribs instead of dragging across the whole face, so the strip resists scuffing and the view through stays clearer for longer. Every strip is cut to the length you choose and comes with a 430-grade stainless steel hook-on plate already riveted across the top, ready to hook straight onto your rail. Choose 200mm, 300mm or 400mm wide, from 1 metre to 10 metres long. The price shown includes the plate and VAT.
Why ribbed strip
Built for vehicle doorways. The ribs take the rubbing from pallets, cages and forklift masts, so the flat PVC between them is protected.
Loads pass through more easily. With less of the strip touching the load, goods slide through more easily and strips are less likely to be pulled off the rail or torn.
Still clear. Drivers and pedestrians can see each other through the curtain. The ribs add faint vertical lines to the view, but they do not block it.
Swap one strip at a time. Every strip has its own stainless plate, so you can lift a damaged strip off the rail and hook a new one on in seconds. You need no tools, and the rest of the curtain stays where it is.
Which strip do I need?
These fit hook-on rails: the flat stainless rail with a row of hooks along its edge, with 41mm slot centres. That is the rail on our clear hook-on strip curtain kit. Measure the width of an old strip and match it. If your curtain hangs on push-fit pegs instead of hooks, these plates will not fit. If each strip is clamped under a flat plate on a grooved aluminium rail, choose our twin track ribbed strips. Choosing the length
Measure an old strip from end to end, including the plate. If it is damaged, measure from the rail to just above the floor. Lengths go up in 100mm steps. For an exact length, choose the next size up, then trim the bottom of the strip with a sharp knife against a straight edge. For a length outside this range, call us for a quote.

Fitting
Lift the old strip so its plate comes off the hooks on the rail. Line the new plate up with the hooks, hook it on and let it hang, overlapping the strips either side as before. Strips are delivered rolled. Unroll them and leave them flat overnight before hanging, so the slight curl at the bottom drops out. Strip curtains do not replace safe traffic routes. Keep forklift speeds low through the curtain and keep pedestrian doorways separate from vehicle doorways where you can.
Frequently asked questions
Can I mix ribbed and flat strips on one rail?
Yes, as long as they are the same width and have hook-on plates. Flat strips are in our clear hook-on replacement strips.
Can I use these in a freezer?
No. Standard ribbed PVC is rated for 0°C to +40°C. For walk-in freezers, choose our hook-on freezer replacement strips, which use polar grade PVC that stays flexible down to -24°C.
Is the plate included?
Yes. Every strip comes with its stainless steel plate fitted, and the price shown includes the plate and VAT.
Why is there a minimum order?
Strips are cut and plated to order, so the minimum order is 10 strips. If you need fewer, call 01744 520 110.
