Description
Freezer strips take a beating. Every pallet, trolley and shoulder that pushes through scuffs and stretches them, and a split or cloudy strip lets warm air and frost into the freezer. These clear polar grade PVC strips are cut to the length you choose and arrive with a 430-grade stainless steel hook-on plate already riveted across the top, ready to hook straight onto your rail. Lift the old strip off, hook the new one on, and the freezer curtain is sealed again. Polar grade PVC stays flexible down to -24°C, where ordinary clear PVC goes stiff and cracks. Choose 200mm or 300mm wide, 2mm or 3mm thick, from 1000mm long. The plate is included in the price.
Which strip do I need?
To replace a strip, match the width and thickness of the strips already on your rail. Measure the width with a tape and compare the thickness with a 2mm or 3mm sample, or call us and we will help.

Choosing the length
Measure an old strip end to end, including the plate. If it is damaged, measure from the rail to just above the floor. Lengths run in 100mm steps. If you fall between two lengths, go up one: the bottom of the strip trims with a sharp knife against a straight edge. Trim it before it goes into the cold.
Only for sub-zero rooms
Polar grade PVC has extra plasticiser to keep it soft in the cold. In rooms above freezing that can make the strips feel sticky and harder to pass through, so use these strips in freezers only. For chillers, cold rooms and ambient doors on a hook-on rail, choose our hook-on clear replacement strips.

Fitting
Lift the old strip so its plate comes off the hooks on the rail. Line up the new plate with the hooks, hook it on and let it hang, overlapping the strips either side as before. Strips travel rolled, and in a freezer the curl takes much longer to drop out, so unroll them and leave them flat overnight in a warm room before you hang them.
Frequently asked questions
Will these fit my rail?
They fit hook-on rails, the flat metal rail with a row of hooks along its edge, like the stainless rail on our freezer kit. Check that your old strips have a metal plate across the top. For a clamp-on or bolt-on freezer curtain, choose our freezer PVC strip cut to length instead.
Do you do ribbed freezer strips for forklift doors?
Yes. Our hook-on ribbed freezer replacement strips use the same polar grade PVC, flexible down to -24°C, with raised ribs that take the rubbing from pallets and forklift masts. They come in 200mm x 2mm and 300mm x 3mm with the plate fitted, and hang on the same hook-on rail.
Is the plate included?
Yes. Every strip comes with its stainless steel plate fitted, and the price shown includes it.
How often should freezer strips be replaced?
PVC strip is a consumable. How long it lasts depends on how busy the door is. Many sites replace freezer strips once a year to keep the seal tight, while doors with light traffic last much longer. Replace any strip that is split, stretched or too cloudy to see through.
