Description
If you look after a site store, workshop, lock-up or garage with one main door, you want to know the moment that door opens without running cable or paying for a monitored system. This wireless door alarm kit does that job with three battery powered parts: a magnetic contact for the door, a separate 130 decibel siren you hide where a thief can't quickly reach it, and a remote control to arm and disarm from up to 50 metres away in clear line of sight. It needs no mains supply, no phone line and no app, so it can go on buildings with no power at all.
Why it works
It watches the door, not the room
Motion detectors in sheds and stores are prone to false alarms from mice and birds. This kit has no motion sensor. The siren is triggered when the door moves and the contact separates from its magnet, so small animals inside the building have nothing to set off.
The siren sits away from the door
Because the contact signals the siren wirelessly, the siren doesn't have to be next to the entrance. Put it out of easy reach inside the store, or in a neighbouring building within range so that people nearby hear it. It sounds for one minute, then stays armed, so a second opening triggers it again.
Quick to fit
The contact and magnet fix with the double-sided tape supplied, with no drilling into a door you may not own. Batteries are included for all three parts.
- 130 dB siren in a unit small enough to hide
- Up to 50 m wireless range in line of sight
- Arm and disarm from outside the building
- Runs on batteries, so it suits unpowered buildings
Where it's used
Typical settings include contractors' tool stores, workshops, lock-up garages, farm sheds and outbuildings. The contact can also be fitted on a window or a hinged lid, and the kit is used on caravans, park homes, boats and fuel tank lids. It suits small buildings where one or two openings are the likely way in.

Choosing the right option
This kit protects one opening. Choose it if the door is the realistic way in and a loud local alarm is what you need. It won't detect someone who comes through a wall, the roof or a window that has no contact, and it won't call or message you, so it only helps if someone is close enough to hear it. No insurer grading or certification is published, so check first if your policy specifies an alarm standard.
Measure the distance from the door to the siren and remote positions before ordering. Fifty metres is a clear line of sight figure, and walls, trees and steel cladding will shorten it. Extra door contacts, sirens, motion detectors and remotes from the same wireless range can be added, so call us if you have several doors or buildings to cover.
Installation, use and care
Clean and dry both surfaces, then fit the contact to the door and the magnet to the frame so they line up within 5 mm when closed. You can reverse them if that gives a neater fit. On steel doors and frames, test before pressing the tape down firmly, as steel can affect magnetic contacts and wireless signal. Place the siren out of reach, then test from where you will stand to arm it. No entry delay is published, so arm from outside once the door is shut. At 130 dB, keep clear of the sounder during testing and warn neighbours first.
Frequently asked questions
Will mice or birds set it off?
Not on their own. The kit has no motion detector and only responds when the contact and magnet separate. If you add a motion detector later, that part can respond to animals, so think about where it points.
Does it have a panic button?
Yes. The remote carries two small buttons marked SOS, and the product diagram shows that pressing both together activates a panic alarm. Treat this as a personal alert at the building, not a monitored service, because nobody is contacted when it sounds.
Can the siren go in a different building?
Yes, as long as it is within wireless range of the contact. Many people put it in a nearby building so the alarm is heard where someone is. Test it in place, since walls and steel cladding reduce the 50 metre line of sight figure.
Does it need mains power?
No. All three parts run on the batteries supplied. The remote's battery typically lasts 1 to 2 years in normal use. Battery life isn't published for the siren or contact, so check them regularly and test the alarm from time to time.
