Description
If you run a yard, farm, depot or long private entrance, you want to know someone has arrived before they reach the door. This wireless driveway alarm kit gives you four separate detection points and one chime indoors, with no cable to dig in and no power needed at the gate. Each battery sensor watches up to 15 metres and signals the plug-in receiver up to 400 metres away in clear line of sight. Set a different chime for each sensor and you can tell which gate, entrance or building was triggered without leaving your desk.
Why it works
Four sensors, four different alerts
The receiver holds 35 chimes and lets you give each sensor its own tune. The main gate, back gate, fuel store and workshop door can each sound different. Four volume levels let you set it for a quiet office or a noisy workshop.
No cabling to the gate
Each sensor runs on 3 AA batteries and transmits wirelessly, so there is no trench to cut and no supply needed at the post. Battery life is quoted at 9 to 12 months, and a busy entrance will use them faster. Only the receiver needs mains power, from an ordinary 3-pin socket.
Made to sit outdoors
The sensor housing is weatherproof, with a hood over the lens and a mounting bracket on the back. Its elongated lens helps avoid small animals at ground level, and two sensitivity settings let you adjust it to suit the site.
Room to grow
One receiver takes up to 32 sensors, and you can add as many extra receivers as you need. Call us about adding parts.
- 4 battery sensors and 1 plug-in receiver, ready to use together
- Up to 400 m wireless range in clear line of sight, 15 m detection range
Where it's used
Typical settings include contractors' and haulage yards, builders' merchants, plant hire depots, farm entrances and machinery sheds, storage compounds and long private drives. It suits sites where the office or farmhouse sits well back from the road, with mains power at the building but none at the gate.

Choosing the right option
Choose this kit if you want an audible alert indoors, several points to watch and no wiring to the gate. It is a motion alert rather than an intruder alarm: there is no outdoor siren in the kit, it does not message your phone, and no insurer grading or certification is published for it, so check with your insurer if your policy specifies an alarm standard.
A PIR sensor reacts to warm, moving bodies, so deer, dogs and livestock can set it off. If animals roam your entrance and vehicles are what you care about, look at our buried probe driveway alarm kit, which senses moving steel instead. Measure from your furthest sensor to the receiver before ordering, and remember 400 metres is a clear line of sight figure. Buildings and trees will reduce it.
Installation, use and care
Fit each sensor 1.5 to 2.0 metres from the ground and aim it level, using its bracket. Fixings are not listed in the kit, so allow for those. Fit the batteries, plug the receiver in and choose a chime for each sensor. Walk test each position before you fix it permanently. Aim sensors away from public roads and moving hedges, which can cause false alerts. Keep the receiver indoors, as no outdoor rating is published for it. Wipe the lens clean when you change batteries.
Frequently asked questions
Will animals set it off?
Small animals at ground level are less likely to, because the elongated lens is designed to avoid them. Larger animals such as deer, dogs and livestock can still trigger a PIR sensor. Use the sensitivity settings to reduce this.
Do I need Wi-Fi or an app?
No. The sensors signal the receiver directly by radio, with no Wi-Fi network or app to set up. The alert is the chime where the receiver is plugged in, so it will not reach your phone.
Can it signal through buildings?
It can, but range drops. The 400 metre figure is for clear line of sight, and walls, trees and steel cladding all reduce it. Test each position before fixing.
