Description
In a data centre or electronics area, a split or missing strip is more than a draught. It breaks the air containment you rely on, and an ordinary PVC replacement can build up static every time people and trolleys brush through. These anti-static PVC strips are cut to the length you choose and arrive with a 430-grade stainless steel hook-on plate already riveted across the top, ready to hook straight onto your rail. Lift the damaged strip off, hook the new one on, and the barrier is whole again without taking the curtain down. 200mm x 2mm, from 1000mm to 3000mm long, with the plate included in the price shown.

Why anti-static strip
Made for static-sensitive areas. As strips rub against each other, against people and against trolleys, standard PVC can build up a static charge. Anti-static PVC is formulated to help dissipate that charge before it builds up, which is why it is specified near servers, network cabinets and electronics.
Keeps your containment working. Strip curtains are used to separate hot and cold aisles, server rooms, UPS and battery rooms, and cooling plant areas. Replacing a damaged strip quickly keeps the airflow where you designed it to go.
Still clear. The PVC is clear with a slight green tint, so engineers can see who and what is on the other side before walking through.
Swap one strip at a time. Every strip has its own stainless plate, so a damaged strip lifts off the rail and a new one hooks on in seconds, without tools and without disturbing the rest of the curtain.
Which strip do I need?
These fit hook-on rails, the flat stainless rail with a row of hooks along its edge, with 41mm slot centres. That is the rail on our anti-static data centre strip curtain kit, which uses this same 200mm x 2mm strip. Check that your old strips are 200mm wide with a metal plate across the top. If your curtain uses a different strip or hanging system, call 01744 520 110 and we will check before you order.
| Where it is used | Typical doorway |
|---|---|
| Data centres | Hot and cold aisle containment, end-of-row doors |
| Server and comms rooms | Room entrances, UPS and battery rooms |
| Electronics manufacturing | Doorways into ESD production and test areas |
| Laboratories and control rooms | Separating technical spaces from corridors |
Choosing the length
Measure an old strip end to end, including the plate. If it is damaged, measure from the rail to just above the floor. Lengths run in 100mm steps. For an exact length, choose the next size up: the bottom of the strip trims cleanly with a sharp knife against a straight edge. Need a length outside this range? Call us and we will quote.

Fitting
Lift the old strip so its plate comes off the hooks on the rail. Line up the new plate with the hooks, hook it on and let it hang, overlapping the strips either side as before. Strips travel rolled, so unroll them and leave them flat overnight before you hang them, and the slight curl at the bottom drops out. Follow your site's ESD and access procedures when working near live equipment.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the PVC slightly green?
The anti-static PVC is clear with a slight green tint. That is normal for this material and does not affect visibility through the strips.
Do anti-static strips replace an ESD programme?
No. They help reduce static build-up at the doorway, but they are not an earthing or ESD protection system. Keep following your site's ESD procedures.
Can I mix anti-static and standard clear strips?
They hang on the same rail, but in a static-sensitive area we recommend every strip is anti-static so the whole curtain behaves the same.
Is the plate included?
Yes. Every strip comes with its stainless steel plate fitted, and the price shown includes it and VAT.
Why is there a minimum order?
Strips are cut and plated to order, so we supply a minimum of 10 per order. Need fewer, or a length outside this range? Call 01744 520 110.
