The ready-to-use formula requires no mixing and can be applied directly using a roller, brush or paint pad. It is suitable for concrete, brick, breeze block, clay and gypsum-based walls, making it an excellent choice for garages, workshops, basements and other interior areas exposed to dust and everyday wear.

Once applied, the coating helps seal porous wall surfaces, reduces dust build-up and provides a strong, plastic-like finish. Two coats are recommended for maximum durability, consistent colour and long-lasting protection.

Coverage

A 5kg container covers approximately 35–50m² per coat, depending on the condition and porosity of the surface.

Highly porous surfaces, including some types of breeze block, may absorb more coating and reduce the overall coverage rate. Applying a small test area first is recommended.

For the best finish and long-term durability, apply two coats.

How many tins do you need?

Add up the width of each wall and multiply by its height to get the area in m². This table allows for two coats at 35m² per coat, the cautious end of the range. The garage figures assume walls 2.4m high, before taking off doors.

Surface Preparation

Proper preparation is essential for achieving a strong and professional finish.

Remove any loose, peeling or flaking paint before application. Previously painted or smooth surfaces should be sanded or mechanically abraded to create a suitable key for the new coating.

Use a stiff or wire brush to remove dirt, loose material and surface contamination. Thoroughly sweep and vacuum the area to ensure the wall is clean, dry and free from dust, grease and debris.

Most sound concrete and masonry surfaces do not require a primer. However, a test application is recommended on highly porous, previously coated or unusual surfaces.

Repair any damage and cracks first. On painted walls, clean off remaining grease, oil or dirt with white spirit or a similar cleaner and let the wall dry completely. Do not coat new or wet concrete that is under 21 days old.

Application

Stir the coating thoroughly before use.

Apply evenly using a roller, brush or paint pad. Avoid applying the coating too thickly and maintain a consistent wet edge to achieve a uniform finish.

Allow approximately 4–6 hours between coats at 20°C. Drying times may increase in colder temperatures or areas with poor ventilation.

Two coats are recommended for the best colour consistency, durability and dust-resistant finish.

• Technique: start in a corner, work inwards and cross-roll for even coverage. Keep each coat thin on breeze block, even if it needs more product.
• Several tins: mix them together in a scuttle so the colour stays even across the job.
• Temperature: apply at 7°C or above, and avoid damp, humid or extreme conditions.
• Clean-up: wash tools in warm, soapy water, and reseal any leftover coating for later. Our paint application kit has the tools for the job.

Important Application Notes

Do not apply to wet, damp, contaminated or unstable surfaces. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying.

Coverage and drying times are approximate and may vary depending on surface porosity, temperature, ventilation and application method.

Wear gloves and safety goggles, and read the safety data sheet before use. Do not wash the wall, expose it to chemicals or let water rest on it until 7 days after application.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work on breeze block?

Yes, but breeze blocks vary in how porous they are, so coverage can drop below the standard figures. Test a small area first to judge how much you need, and keep each coat thin even if the wall takes more product.

Do I need a primer?

Most sound concrete and masonry does not. Run a test application first on highly porous, previously coated or unusual surfaces, and sand old paint to give the new coat a key.

Can I use it on the garage floor or outside?

No. It is an interior wall coating. For the floor, use a dedicated floor coating such as our high build epoxy garage floor paint, which pairs well with it.

How soon can I clean the walls?

Wait until 7 days after application before washing the wall or exposing it to chemicals. The final dry time is about 8 hours at 20°C, and it takes longer in cooler or poorly ventilated spaces.
