Food Grade PVC Strip Curtain Kit | Food Contact Clear PVC | Hook-On Stainless Rail

In a food business, anything that can touch food needs to be the right material, and a strip curtain hanging across a busy prep or production doorway gets brushed by trays, trolleys, sleeves and sometimes the food itself. This kit uses food contact PVC that complies with EC Regulation 1935/2004, EC Regulation 2023/2006 and EU Regulation 10/2011, carries the fork and glass identification mark, and hangs from a 430-grade stainless steel hook-on rail. It keeps the cold in, the dust and flies out, and the doorway open for staff and trolleys. The 200mm x 2mm strips come cut to length and ready to hang, in 11 widths and 6 heights from 856mm x 2000mm up to 2496mm x 2500mm.

Why it works

Food contact PVC, not industrial PVC. Standard strip curtain PVC is made for warehouses and workshops. This strip is made from certified food contact PVC, which gives you extra assurance in rooms where raw ingredients or uncovered food may touch the curtain, and a clear answer when an auditor asks what the doorway is made of. It is DOP free and REACH compliant too.

Hygienic separation without a door to touch. Staff walk or wheel through hands-free, so nobody grabs a handle with gloved hands. The strips close behind each pass, which helps keep chilled rooms cold, cuts draughts and helps keep dust, debris and flying pests out of food areas.

Clear and easy to clean. The PVC has excellent clarity, so staff on either side can see each other. The strips are UV stabilised, flexible in chilled rooms and impact resistant, and they wipe clean as part of your cleaning schedule.

Stainless rail, strips that lift off. The 430-grade stainless steel rail resists corrosion. Each strip hangs on a stainless plate, so you can lift strips off to deep clean them or replace a damaged one in seconds. Each 200mm strip overlaps the next by 36mm on each side, so 36% of every strip is doubled up to close the doorway when it hangs still.

Where it is used

Food processing and meat processing plants, butchers, bakeries, dairies, commercial and hospitality kitchens, catering prep rooms, food packaging areas, food distribution centres, and cold rooms and chilled stores where staff carry open product. It is rated for 0°C to +40°C and built for people on foot and careful trolley traffic.

This PVC is for strip curtains only. It is not intended for food packaging.

Choosing the right size

Width. Measure between the inside edges of the opening and choose a curtain a little wider, so the outer strips cover the frame. A 900mm prep room door takes the 1020mm curtain. All sizes are nominal.

Height. Measure from the underside of the frame to the floor. If you fall between two heights, go up one: trim the strips so they finish just clear of the floor and your floor cleaning.

Which kit do you need?

Fitting and care

Fix the rail to a structurally sound surface across the full width of the opening, because it is not self-supporting. Use M6 fixings that suit the wall or panel, hook on each strip and check the overlap. The strips travel rolled; any curl at the bottom relaxes in time, and faster if you leave them flat overnight in a warm room before hanging.

Clean the strips with your usual food-safe detergent and warm water, and rinse. Lift them off the rail for a deep clean. PVC strip is a consumable, so replace any strip that is torn, scratched or cloudy, one at a time, with our hook-on food grade replacement strips, cut to length with the plate fitted.
