One handset is rarely enough once an intercom goes in at a working site. The office answers it while the person who needs to let the lorry in is out on the warehouse floor. This extra handset adds another answering point to your 600m wireless intercom, with its own charging cradle and charger. It alerts by chime, vibration and flashing light, lets you talk to the visitor, and can release the gate or door if your caller station is wired to do so. Use it to cover a second office, the goods-in bay, a gatehouse, or a farmhouse and yard together.

Why add another handset

Calls get answered. Every handset on the system alerts together, so a visitor does not depend on one person being near one device.

Private conversations. The first handset to answer opens a secure link with the caller station or other handset, and the rest are shut out of that conversation.

Staff can call each other. Handsets also talk to one another, so a yard and an office can speak with no gate call involved.

It knows which gate is calling. On a system with two caller stations, the handset shows which one is calling and can operate either.

Know the limits. The handset is push to talk: hold to speak, release to listen. The 600 metre range is a line-of-sight figure, so buildings, steel and trees will shorten it. Remote release works only where the caller station has a DC supply and the gate or lock is wired to it. No IP rating is published, so treat it as an indoor device or keep it dry when you carry it around the site.

Setting up, use and care

Charge the handset fully on its cradle before first use. A new handset has to be paired with your system before it will work, so have the caller station accessible when you set it up, and call us if you need the steps. Use the charger supplied, and keep the cradle in a dry place away from heat and direct sun. Stand the handset back on its cradle at the end of a shift, and check the battery indicator if it is carried all day.
