Description
If drivers are waiting at a shutter door because nobody on the warehouse floor can hear a knock, this kit closes that gap without a cable run across the yard. You fit a heavy duty push button where visitors arrive and a loud red bell where your team works. A press of the button sets off the bell and a chime on a receiver in your office, over a wireless link rated at 900 metres line of sight. It suits goods-in doors, factory gates and farm yards, or any site where the person answering is rarely in one place.
Why it works
The wireless link does the hard part
Trenching or overhead cabling between buildings is what usually makes a site-wide bell expensive. Here nothing needs laying between the transmitter and the receiver. Be realistic about the figure: 900 metres is line of sight, and the working range on most sites is around 400 to 600 metres because buildings and steelwork weaken the signal.
Each part sits where it does its job
The button and transmitter are joined by 3 metres of bell cable, so the button can sit at the door while the IP65 transmitter box goes wherever it transmits best, such as the back of a post or just inside a factory wall. A second 3 metre cable lets the receiver stay in the dry while the bell goes out into the warehouse or yard.
Two ways to be alerted
The receiver has its own chime with adjustable volume and drives the wired bell at the same time, so the office hears the chime and the floor hears the bell. When the site is closed, you switch the receiver off.
Where it's used
Warehouses and factories are the obvious fit, particularly for goods-in doors and rear gates out of earshot of the office. It is also used on farms, in schools and workshops, and for detached offices. The same system can work as a staff call point or simple alert, though it is sold as a call and alert bell, not as a fire alarm system.

Choosing the right option
This is a single kit with one button and one bell, so the question is whether it fits your site. Walk the route first. With a clear view between the two ends and under about 400 metres, you should be well inside the working range. If the signal has to pass through several steel buildings, test before you fix anything permanently.
You need a mains socket near the receiver, and the bell is wired to the receiver rather than wireless. That cable can be extended with ordinary 2-core bell cable, though a maximum length is not published for this line. Extra push buttons, receivers, bells and a signal repeater, which can at least double the range, are not included, so contact us before ordering if you need them.
Installation, use and care
Mount the push button, then fix the transmitter box with its four screws. Mount the receiver near a socket and plug in the transformer, then fix the bell using the four holes in its bracket. Either cable can be removed to pass through a wall or post. Press the button to test the whole route before you finish off. If the bell stops responding reliably, check the transmitter's MN21 battery first.
FAQ
Will it really reach 900 metres?
Only with a clear line of sight between transmitter and receiver. On most working sites, expect around 400 to 600 metres, because buildings and steelwork reduce the signal.
Does the bell need its own power supply?
No. The bell takes 12V DC from the receiver through the 3 metre cable, and the receiver runs from the plug-in transformer. The button side runs on the transmitter's battery.
Can the parts be fitted outdoors?
The bell can be fitted outside, the transmitter box is rated IP65 and the button has sealed contacts. Keep the receiver in an office, gatehouse or similar dry room with a socket nearby.
