Description
The ready made mid post is an intermediate post for a single top rail barrier, delivered already put together: bolt it down, push the rail through the top and the job is done. It is an oval base flange, a 33.7mm galvanised post and a long tee on top, assembled at 1100mm overall height. The top rail passes straight through the long tee, and two rail lengths can also be joined inside it over the post. There is no mid rail fitting, so it suits single-rail barriers and stand-off rails. Tube and fittings are galvanised for indoor and outdoor use. The price shown is for one complete post; rails and floor fixings are not included.
Why use a ready made post
No cutting or assembly on site. The post arrives cut, fitted and set at height. Each post goes up in the time it takes to drill two holes and tighten two anchors.
Every post the same height. Factory-assembled posts are all 1100mm overall, so a long run of rail sits level without measuring each one.
Joins rail lengths too. The long tee on top takes one rail straight through, or the ends of two rails pushed in from each side, each with its own screw, so joints in the top rail can fall on any post.
Galvanised for outdoors. The zinc coating protects the tube and fittings in car parks, yards, walkways and loading areas.

Light single-rail barriers along garden and park paths, stand-off rails in front of shop windows and building walls, school and playground edges, queue lines, and low guard rails round planters, meters and plant.

How many do you need?
Space intermediate posts at up to 2 metre centres. A 10 metre straight run needs two end posts and four mid posts; add a corner post at each turn.
Choosing the right size
This post takes 33.7mm outside diameter rail, often sold as 1" or 25mm nominal bore. The same ready made mid post is made for 42.4mm and 48.3mm rail.
Fitting and care
Set out the run, stand each post in place and mark the two holes in the base. Drill and fix with anchors to suit the floor (not included). Feed the rail through the long tees, join lengths inside a tee where needed, level the rail and tighten all grub screws with a 1/4" hex key. Check the anchors and screws after the first week and once a year, and touch up scratched galvanising with zinc-rich paint.

Is the price for the whole post?
Yes. The price is for one complete post: base, tube and long tee, assembled. Rails and floor fixings are extra.
Does it have a mid rail fitting?
No. This version carries a single top rail only.
Can I join two rails on it?
Yes. Push one rail into each end of the long tee so the ends meet over the post, each held by its own screw.
Is a load rating published?
No load rating is published. For a barrier that must meet a set load, ask a structural engineer to check the design and the floor fixings.
