A plain door shuts out the view, the light and the person carrying a box. An open doorway leaks heat and lets draughts through. This transparent green PVC strip curtain sits between the two. You walk or wheel a trolley straight through it, the strips fall back into place behind you, and you can still see who is coming the other way. It is a complete hook-on kit, with a 430-grade stainless steel rail and PVC strips cut to length and ready to hang. It suits internal doorways in shops, workshops, offices, schools and creative spaces where you want colour as well as a working barrier. Choose from 11 widths and 6 heights, from 856mm x 2000mm up to 2496mm x 2500mm.

Why it works

A barrier you never have to open. Hanging strips close an opening without closing off the route through it. That helps cut heat loss and cold draughts, and it helps reduce dust, noise and flying pests moving between areas. People and careful trolley traffic pass through hands-free, which a solid door cannot offer.

Colour you can see through. The PVC is strongly tinted but stays transparent, so daylight carries on through and people on the far side stay visible. Everything you see through it takes on a green cast, as the real photo in the size guide shows. That makes the doorway a clear visual feature, or a way to mark one zone from another.

Real overlap, worked out for you. Each 200mm strip starts 164mm along from the last, so neighbours overlap by 36mm on each side. That means 36% of every strip is doubled up, which closes the gaps when the curtain hangs still. The darker bands you see in the photos are those overlaps.

Easy to keep going. Each strip has a stainless steel plate that hooks on to the rail, so a worn or damaged strip lifts off and a new one hooks on without touching the others. The PVC is UV stabilised, DOP free and fully REACH compliant.

You will see these curtains in stock room doorways, retail back-of-house routes, workshops, leisure facilities, office partitions, garden centres, studios, schools and classrooms. They also work well at pedestrian routes inside warehouses, where one colour can mark out a zone. They are built for pedestrians and careful trolley use, so choose a heavier grade for regular pallet trucks or forklifts.

Choosing the right size

Width. Measure between the inside edges of the opening, then choose a curtain slightly wider, so the strips cover the edges and leave no gap. For an opening 900mm wide, the 1020mm curtain is the right pick. All sizes are nominal.

Height. Measure from the underside of the frame to the floor, and allow for the rail if you are fixing it above the frame. If you fall between two heights, go up a size, as the strips can be trimmed to finish just above the floor.

Fitting and care

Fix the rail to a beam, lintel or other solid surface that runs across the whole opening, because the rail is not self-supporting. Use M6 fixings to suit that surface, then hook on each strip and check the overlap. The strips travel rolled, so a slight curl at the bottom is normal and will relax. Unrolling them flat overnight helps.

Fit the curtain indoors or in a sheltered opening wherever you can, because weather speeds up wear and loses clarity. PVC strip is a consumable: heavy use will mean replacing strips sooner, one at a time, with our hook-on transparent colour replacement strips, cut to length with the plate fitted.
