Every time a door is propped open, heat goes out, dust comes in and the next room gets the noise. Shut it, and nobody can see who is coming the other way. This clear PVC strip curtain gives you both: a barrier across the opening that people walk or wheel straight through, with a clear view either side. It is a complete kit on a QuickMount push-fit peg rail, made from toughened polypropylene with no metal plates on the strips, and 200mm x 2mm clear strips cut to length and ready to hang. Choose from 12 widths and 6 heights, from 813mm x 2000mm up to 2489mm x 2500mm, for internal doorways in warehouses, shops, workshops, offices and other busy buildings.

Why it works

A door that is always open and always closed. The strips hang across the opening and close behind each person or trolley that passes. That helps hold heat in winter and cooled air in summer, cuts draughts, and helps keep dust, weather, flying debris and pests out of the next area. There is no handle to reach for and nothing to hold open.

No metal at head height. Each strip has a row of small slots near its top edge that press over the pegs on the rail. There are no steel plates or hooks on the strips, so if a strip is pulled down there is nothing hard to fall on anyone. That makes this kit a good choice where the public, children or busy staff pass close to the curtain.

Heavy overlap that closes the gaps. The kit is sold as 50% overlap. Each 200mm strip starts 152mm along from the last, so neighbouring strips overlap by 48mm and nearly half of every strip is doubled up. The curtain closes well when it hangs still and is still easy to walk through.

Clear enough to see who is coming. Standard clear PVC lets light through with very little distortion, so people, trolleys and stock on the far side stay visible. The PVC is flexible, impact resistant, carries anti-UV filters and helps cut noise between areas. It is DOP free and fully REACH compliant.

Strips you can swap one at a time. A damaged strip pulls off the pegs and a new one pushes on, without taking the rail down.

Where it is used

Typical openings are warehouse packing areas, shop stockroom doors, workshop parts stores, office and corridor partitions, and doorways in schools, nurseries and care settings where a metal-free fitting matters. Choosing the right size

Width. Measure between the inside edges of the opening and choose a curtain a little wider, so the outer strips cover the edges. For a 900mm single door, the 965mm curtain is the right choice. All sizes are nominal.

Height. Measure from the underside of the frame to the floor, allowing for the rail if it fixes above the frame. If you fall between two heights, go up one, because the strips trim easily to finish just above the floor.

Fitting and care

Fix the rail to a beam, lintel or other solid surface across the full width of the opening, because it is not self-supporting. Use M8 fixings to suit the surface, push each strip's slots over the pegs and check the overlap. The strips travel rolled, so a slight curl at the bottom is normal and relaxes in time, more slowly in the cold. Unrolling them flat overnight before hanging helps.

Fit the curtain inside the opening wherever you can, because weather wears PVC faster and clouds it. Strips are a consumable: busy doors need new strips sooner, and you can replace them one at a time with our QuickMount clear replacement strips, cut to length and punched ready to push on.
