Solid Colour PVC Strip Curtain Kit | QuickMount Push-Fit Rail | White, Black or Red

Clear strip curtains let you walk through a doorway and still see what is on the other side. Sometimes that is exactly the problem. This kit hangs a curtain of solid, opaque PVC strips in white, black or red, so the opening stays easy to walk or wheel through but nobody can see in. Use it to screen a production area from a trade counter, black out a room, or mark a restricted zone in a colour everyone recognises. The strips push on to a grey polypropylene QuickMount rail with no metal plates. Choose your colour, then 12 widths from 813mm to 2489mm and 6 heights from 2000mm to 2500mm.

Why it works

Complete visual screening. The PVC is opaque, so the curtain hides whatever is behind it while staff, trolleys and stock move through freely. You get the privacy of a wall or door without the cost of building one or the nuisance of opening one.

Three colours for three jobs. Black gives the most privacy and blocks the most light, so it suits blackout and screening. White looks clean and bright, which suits food, healthcare and front-of-house screening. Red stands out as a warning, so it is used to mark restricted, hazard or colour-coded zones.

A deeper overlap. Each 200mm strip starts 152mm along from the last, so neighbours overlap by 48mm on each side. That is the kit sold as 50% overlap: nearly half of every strip is doubled up, which closes the gaps between strips so light and views do not slip through.

No metal plates to fall. The strips have punched slots that push straight on to moulded pegs on the polypropylene rail. If a strip is ever knocked off, there is no heavy metal plate on it, which is why push-fit rails are chosen for schools, nurseries, healthcare and food production. The curtain also helps cut heat loss, draughts and dust.

Where it is used

Production areas, warehouses and workshops, food processing, waste and recycling centres, agricultural buildings, plant rooms, storage areas, private workspaces and behind trade counters. Typical jobs are hiding a messy back area from customers, blacking out a room for a process that needs low light, and marking a zone that only trained staff should enter. It is built for people on foot and light trolley traffic.

Choosing the right size

Colour. Black for blackout and maximum privacy, white for clean areas and a bright finish, red to mark a zone. All three are the same price.

Width. Measure between the inside edges of the opening and choose a curtain a little wider, so the outer strips cover the frame and no light leaks at the edges. For a 900mm door, the 965mm curtain is the right choice. All sizes are nominal.

Height. Measure from the underside of the frame to the floor. If you fall between two heights, go up one and trim the strips to finish just above the floor.

Fitting and care

Fix the rail to a structurally sound surface across the full width of the opening, because it is not self-supporting. Use fixings that suit the wall, then push each strip on to the pegs and check the overlap. The strips travel rolled, so unroll them flat overnight before hanging and any curl will settle.

Fit the curtain inside the opening wherever you can, because weather wears PVC faster. Wipe the strips clean with warm soapy water. Strips are a consumable: replace any damaged strip on its own by pulling it off the pegs and pushing a new one on.
