What is the safe working load of your eye bolts?

Safe Working Load (SWL) varies by eye bolt size and type. All our eye bolts are marked with their SWL rating. We supply eye bolts from 50kg to 20 tonnes SWL. Always use eye bolts within their rated capacity and for axial (straight pull) loads only unless specifically rated for angular loading.

What is the difference between collared and non-collared eye bolts?

Collared eye bolts have a shoulder that sits against the mounting surface, providing better support and allowing angular loading up to 45°. Non-collared eye bolts are for axial (straight) pulls only. For lifting applications with any side load, always use collared eye bolts.

Do your eye bolts come with certificates?

Yes, our lifting eye bolts come with test certificates and comply with BS 4278 standards. For LOLER compliance, we recommend annual inspection of all lifting equipment. Certificates are available on request.

What thread sizes are available for eye bolts?

We stock eye bolts in metric thread sizes from M6 to M64. Imperial UNC threads are also available on request. Thread length varies by size - see individual product specifications for details.

Can eye bolts be used for permanent lifting points?

Yes, eye bolts can be used as permanent lifting points when correctly installed. Ensure the bolt is fully engaged with adequate thread depth, use appropriate washers, and install in load-rated anchor points. Regular inspection is required under LOLER regulations.
