Description
The single lugged bracket gives a tube one flat fixing tab, so a board, sign or panel can be bolted to it lying almost flush against the tube. The barrel slides onto the 42.4mm tube and one grub screw locks it at any height and angle; the lug has a 10mm hole for a bolt or rivet. It is the simple way to fix plywood, signs, mesh frames and display panels to a tube structure without drilling the tube. It is malleable cast iron with a galvanised finish for indoor and outdoor use. The price shown is for one bracket, with a minimum order of 10.

Why use a single lugged bracket
Panels sit close to the tube. The lug is offset to lie almost level with the face of the tube, so a flat board bolted to it sits tight against the frame instead of standing off on a bracket.
No drilling the tube. Drilling a galvanised tube weakens it and breaks the coating. The bracket clamps on, so the tube stays whole and rust-free.
Adjustable. Until the grub screw is tightened, the bracket slides along the tube and turns round it, so the lug can be lined up exactly with the holes in the panel.
Low cost per fixing. One screw and one bolt per point, with no welding or special tools.
Where it is used
Sign boards on tube posts, plywood and sheet back panels on workshop frames, display boards and noticeboards, kick plates and toe boards on platforms, mesh and sheet panels on guards and enclosures, and shelving backs.

Choosing the right size
Key clamps are sized by the tube's outside diameter. 42.4mm tube is often sold as 1¼" or 32mm nominal bore. Measure across the tube: this bracket will not grip 40mm or 48.3mm tube. Use M10 or smaller bolts in the 10mm hole.
Fitting and care
Slide the brackets onto the tube before anything above blocks the tube end. Offer up the board, mark and drill its holes to match the lugs, then bolt it on and tighten the grub screws with a 5/16" hex key. Use washers on soft boards. Check the screws and bolts after the first week and once a year. Touch up scratched galvanising with zinc-rich paint.
