Description
The yellow corner post kit is everything needed for the corner post of a two-rail high-visibility guardrail, in one order. It contains an oval base flange, a 1060mm post tube, a mid rail corner and a top rail corner, all for 42.4mm tube and all in gloss traffic yellow (RAL 1023). Built up, the post stands 1100mm high with the mid rail at 550mm, and the top and mid rails leave it at 90° to each other so the guardrail turns a square corner. It is supplied loose, goes together with a hex key, and is best used indoors. The price shown is for one complete kit; the rails themselves are not included.

Why buy the corner post as a kit
The right parts, cut and matched. The post tube is already cut to length for a 1100mm guardrail, and the three fittings are the ones a corner post needs, so there is nothing to work out and nothing missing on the day.
Seen from across the building. Traffic yellow posts and fittings stand out against grey floors, racking and machinery, so drivers and pedestrians see the barrier and its corners straight away.
No welding, no cutting. Screw the base to the floor, push the post in, slide on the mid rail corner, cap it with the top rail corner and tighten the grub screws. The barrier can be moved or extended later.
Standard guardrail heights. 1100mm to the top rail and 550mm to the mid rail are the heights commonly used for pedestrian guardrails in workplaces.
Where it is used
Corners of pedestrian walkway barriers and forklift aisle guards in warehouses and factories, guarding round machines, plant and charging areas, mezzanine and platform edges, and loading bay corners under cover.

How many do you need?
One kit for every 90° corner. A barrier round three sides of a bay has two corners and two ends, so it needs two corner post kits and two end post kits, plus intermediate posts at up to 2 metre centres.
Choosing the right size
Key clamps are sized by the tube's outside diameter. 42.4mm tube is often sold as 1¼" or 32mm nominal bore, and is the usual size for workplace guardrails. The same yellow corner post kit is made for 33.7mm and 48.3mm tube.
Fitting and care
Fix the base flange to the floor with two suitable anchors (not included). Push the post fully into the base and tighten its screws. Slide the mid rail corner onto the post, fit the top rail corner on the top, cut the rails to length and push them into the sockets. Square up and level the rails, then tighten every grub screw with a 5/16" hex key. Check the screws after the first week and once a year.
Frequently asked questions
Is the price for the whole kit?
Yes. The price is for one complete corner post: base, post and two corner fittings. Rails and floor fixings are extra.
Does it come assembled?
No. It is supplied loose and goes together with a hex key in a few minutes.
Can I use it outside?
It is best used indoors. Outside, the screws and threads need painting to stop rust.
Is a load rating published?
No load rating is published for the kit. For a guardrail that must meet a set load, ask a structural engineer to check the design and the floor fixings.
