Description
The yellow three way mid rail corner takes two mid rails round a corner post at 90°, with the post running straight through, on high-visibility safety barriers indoors. The corner post passes through the central barrel, each mid rail ends in its own closed socket, and three brass-coated grub screws lock all three tubes. It is the partner to the yellow top rail corner: the top corner caps the post and carries the top rails, and this fitting carries the mid rails lower down. It suits 33.7mm outside diameter tube and is malleable cast iron with a gloss traffic yellow powder coat (RAL 1023), best used indoors. The price shown is for one fitting, with a minimum order of 5.

Why use a yellow mid rail corner
Seen from across the building. Traffic yellow rails and fittings stand out against grey floors, racking and machinery, so drivers and pedestrians see the barrier and its corners straight away.
A clean corner at mid height. On a two-rail barrier both rails have to turn the corner. This fitting turns the lower rail at exactly 90° and the same height on both sides, with no gaps.
The post stays in one length. The post passes straight through the barrel, from the floor fitting up to the top rail corner, so the corner post has no joints.
No welding, no repainting. Everything goes together with a hex key, so the yellow coat is not burnt off.
Where it is used
Pedestrian walkway barriers and forklift aisle guards inside warehouses and factories, guarding round machines and plant, mezzanine and platform edges, loading bay corners under cover, and the corners of yellow safety frames and enclosures.

Indoors or outdoors?
The powder coat is made for indoor use. The brass-coated grub screws and the bare threads inside the screw holes will rust outside. If you do fit it outdoors, paint the threads and screw heads with matching RAL 1023 yellow paint after tightening, and touch up any chips. For outdoor barriers the galvanised 33.7mm mid rail corner is the better choice.

How many do you need?
One mid rail corner at each 90° corner of a two-rail barrier, paired with one top rail corner on the same post. A walkway barrier round three sides of a bay has two corners and needs two of each. For a complete corner, the yellow 33.7mm corner post kit brings the fittings together.
Choosing the right size
Key clamps are sized by the tube's outside diameter. 33.7mm tube is often sold as 1" or 25mm nominal bore. Measure across the tube: this corner will not grip 32mm or 42.4mm tube. All three tubes must be the same size. The same yellow corner is made for 42.4mm and 48.3mm tube, and in black for 33.7mm.
Fitting and care
Slide the corner onto the post at mid-rail height before fitting the top rail corner. Cut each mid rail to length, deburr the ends and push them fully into the sockets. Square up the corner, level the rails and tighten all three grub screws with a 1/4" hex key. Take care not to chip the coating, and touch up any marks with RAL 1023 yellow paint. Check the screws after the first week and once a year.
Frequently asked questions
Is the price for one fitting?
Yes. The price is for one mid rail corner with all three grub screws. The minimum order is 5. For a full barrier, call us for a price.
What is the difference from the top rail corner?
The top rail corner caps the post: the post ends inside it. On this mid rail corner the post passes straight through and carries on up to the top rail.
Can I use it outside?
It is best used indoors. Outside, the screws and threads need painting to stop rust. The galvanised version is made for outdoor barriers.
Is a load rating published?
No load rating is published for this fitting. For a barrier that must meet a set load, ask a structural engineer to check the design.
