A privacy curtain only works when every strip is there. One torn or missing frosted strip leaves a clear gap straight into the stockroom, the packing bench or the staff area you meant to screen. These frosted PVC strips are cut to the length you choose and arrive with a 430-grade stainless steel hook-on plate already riveted across the top, ready to hook straight onto your rail. Lift the damaged strip off, hook the new one on, and the screen is whole again without taking the curtain down. The frosted finish lets daylight through but blurs what is behind it into soft shapes, like frosted glass. 200mm x 2mm, from 1000mm to 3000mm long, with the plate included in the price.

Hook-on frosted PVC strips size guide: size and how to measure

Why frosted strip

Privacy without losing the light. Frosted PVC diffuses light as it passes through, so work areas stay bright while stock, machinery and people behind the curtain are hidden from direct view.

A screen people walk straight through. Unlike a wall or a door, the strips part for people and trolleys and fall back into place, helping to cut draughts, dust and noise between areas.

Swap one strip at a time. Every strip has its own stainless plate, so a damaged strip lifts off the rail and a new one hooks on in seconds.

Which strip do I need?

These fit hook-on rails, the flat stainless rail with a row of hooks along its edge, with 41mm slot centres. That is the rail on our frosted hook-on strip curtain kit, which uses this same 200mm x 2mm strip. Check that your old strips are 200mm wide with a metal plate across the top.

Choosing the length

Measure an old strip end to end, including the plate. If it is damaged, measure from the rail to just above the floor. Lengths run in 100mm steps. If you fall between two lengths, go up one: the bottom of the strip trims with a sharp knife against a straight edge. These strips are recommended for doors up to 3m high.

Fitting

Lift the old strip so its plate comes off the hooks on the rail. Line up the new plate with the hooks, hook it on and let it hang, overlapping the strips either side as before. Strips travel rolled, so unroll them and leave them flat overnight before you hang them, and the slight curl at the bottom drops out.

Frequently asked questions

Can people see through frosted strip?

Not clearly. Light comes through, and you can tell when someone is moving on the other side, but faces, stock and screens are blurred into soft shapes. Where people need to see who is coming, such as on forklift routes, use our hook-on clear replacement strips instead.

Can I mix frosted and clear strips?

Yes, they hang on the same rail. Some sites hang one or two clear strips in the middle of a frosted curtain so people can see through part of the doorway.

Is the plate included?

Yes. Every strip comes with its stainless steel plate fitted, and the price shown includes it.

Can I use them in a freezer?

No. They are recommended for 0°C to +40°C. For freezer doors, see our hook-on freezer replacement strips.

Why is there a minimum order?

Strips are cut and plated to order, so we supply a minimum of 10 per order. Need fewer, or a length outside this range? Call 01744 520 110.
