Description
A painted bay only works until someone ignores it. This red fold-down hoop barrier puts a physical stop across your parking space. Up and locked, another car cannot pull in. Unlocked and folded, it drops to just 45mm so you can drive in. It measures 860mm wide and 470mm high, stands on three bolted-down bases and has its lock built in, so there is no padlock to lose or leave out in the rain. It suits reserved staff and visitor bays, commercial yards, shared car parks and private driveways.
Why a hoop barrier works
Three legs, not one. A traditional fold-down post stands on a single base. This hoop stands on three: two outer legs and a central stay, with six fixing points between them. That triangular layout is what makes it stronger than a single post.
Wider cover from one unit. At 860mm wide it covers far more of the bay than a single pole. Centre it in a standard 2.4m bay and you leave about 770mm each side, which is too narrow for a car to pass.
Very low when folded. Down, it stands only 45mm high, which is low for a fold-down post. The bases have rounded edges to reduce the risk of tyre damage if a wheel catches one.
The lock is part of the barrier. There is no separate padlock or hasp to buy, lose or have cut off. Each barrier comes with two keys, so one can stay in the car and one in the office.
Easy to see. The red powder coat stands out against concrete, block paving and painted lines, so drivers notice it before they reach it.
No impact or load rating is published for this line. It is a parking control barrier and a strong deterrent, not a crash-rated security bollard. If your site needs a rated product, call us before you order.

Choosing the right option
Keyed all different gives each barrier its own key. Choose it for one bay, or where each bay belongs to a different person.
Keyed all the same means one key opens every barrier in your order. Choose it for a facilities team or a site manager looking after a row of bays, so nobody has to carry a bunch of keys. If you may add more barriers later, call us first so we can talk through matching them.

Measure before you order. Up, you need 860mm across and 280mm front to back of sound ground for the three bases. Folded, it takes up 470mm front to back. The dimension drawing in the gallery shows each position.
Fitting and care
Set the barrier where the car would enter the bay, centred between the lines. Mark the six holes through the bases, drill, and bolt down using the six fixings supplied, which are for concrete ground. Check that the barrier folds and locks freely before you tighten everything fully. Keep the lock and hinges clean, check the fixings during routine site checks, and touch up any chips in the coating to help keep rust out. Have a competent person confirm the ground is sound enough to hold the fixings.

Is the price for one barrier?
Yes. The price is for one barrier with two keys and six ground fixings. For several bays, add the quantity you need.
Will it fit on tarmac or block paving?
The fixings supplied are for concrete. Tarmac needs at least 150mm depth and tarmac bolts to suit the 8mm holes, which are not in the box. Block paving is only as firm as what sits beneath it. Call us before you order and we will talk it through.
Can I drive over it when it is folded?
It stands only 45mm high when folded, so most cars pass over it. Check the clearance first on lowered or low-profile cars, and take care to keep tyres clear of the three bases.
Will it stop someone forcing their way in?
It is a strong deterrent and a clear physical stop for everyday parking control. No impact rating is published for this line, so it should not be used where a crash-rated barrier is required.
What if I lose a key?
Every barrier comes with two keys, so keep the spare somewhere safe. If you do lose one, call us with your order details and we will see what we can do.
