Description

Turn a dusty garage into a proper home gym in a few days. This kit gives you everything to prime and paint the floor yourself: two-part epoxy floor paint, the right primer for your concrete, and the rollers, brushes and mixing tools to do the job. You get a tough, professional high-gloss floor that handles weights, machines and regular daily use, and it wipes clean after every session. Tell us your floor condition, colour and area below and the kit is matched to your garage.

What's in the kit

  • 2 x two-part high build epoxy floor paint in your chosen colour
  • 1 x primer, matched to the floor type you choose
  • Roller frame and roller sleeves (use a fresh sleeve for each coat)
  • Paint scuttle
  • Mixing paddle
  • 3 x paint brushes
  • Pair of disposable gloves

You receive enough of each item for the kit size you choose. You will need your own electric drill for the mixing paddle.

Why it works

Tough enough for a real gym

The paint is a 100% solids epoxy resin formula that cures to about 250 microns per coat, so each coat builds real thickness on the floor. It is designed to take heavy foot traffic and gym equipment, it is oil resistant, and it gives a strong, stable surface with industrial-style durability. It is manufactured in the UK.

A primer chosen for your floor

Preparation makes or breaks a garage floor. Choosing your floor type below puts the right primer in the box, so the coating has the best chance of bonding properly.

Easy to live with

The high-gloss finish looks clean and bright, and sweat, chalk and dust wipe straight off once it has fully cured. The floor is ready to walk on in about 24 hours at 20°C.

  • Heavy duty epoxy garage floor coating designed for home gyms
  • Professional high-gloss finish
  • Suitable for concrete, wood, screeds and steel
  • Available with fine, medium or coarse anti-slip
  • Fast application, with foot traffic in about 24 hours

Where it's used

Garage home gyms, weight training areas, fitness rooms, exercise studios, commercial training spaces, workshop floors and heavy-use concrete floors. It is an interior coating, so use it indoors and away from prolonged sunlight.

Choosing the right option

Type: pick the one that matches your floor.

Frail / Dusty Concrete Old, dusty or weaker floors. Comes with a deep penetrating primer.
Sound Concrete Floors in good condition. Comes with a damp tolerant primer.
New Concrete Newer floors at least 21 days old with moisture under 6%. Comes with a damp tolerant primer.
Oil / Grease Contaminated Concrete Floors with heavy oil residue. Clean with a degreaser and scrape first. Comes with an oil tolerant primer.
Latex Floors finished with a latex levelling compound. Contact us if you are unsure.

Size. Measure length x width of your floor. A single garage is often around 15m², so round up to the next kit. Allow extra for a rough or porous floor, which uses more paint.

Colour. Each colour is matched to a RAL code, so you can check it against a physical RAL chart. Colours on screen are a guide only.

Anti-slip. Sweaty feet and a gloss floor are worth thinking about, especially in cardio and free-weight areas. For extra grip, add our anti-slip silica aggregate in fine, medium or coarse. Contact us if you would like help working out how much you need.

Installation, use and care

Prepare. Remove any flaking paint and sand the surface to give it a key. Grinding or shot-blasting gives the best result. Sweep and vacuum away all dust.

Prime. Apply the primer and let it dry to the touch. Apply your first coat of paint no later than 24 hours after that.

Mix. Stir Part A with the paddle on a drill for about 1 minute, add all of Part B, and mix for another 90 seconds. Never split a tin; use the whole unit.

Apply. Pour everything into the scuttle within 20 minutes. Brush the edges, then roll the floor, using a new sleeve for each coat. A second pair of hands helps.

Wait. Apply the second coat once the first is no longer tacky. Keep gym equipment off for at least 48 hours, and water and chemicals off for 7 days.

FAQ

How soon can I put my gym equipment back?

You can walk on it after about 24 hours at 20°C. Wait at least 48 hours before moving heavy equipment back, and longer in a cold garage. At 10°C allow 72 hours.

Is it slippery?

The standard finish is high gloss and can be slippery when wet or sweaty. Add our anti-slip aggregate if you want more grip, and consider rubber matting under free weights.

Will it take dropped weights?

It is built for gym equipment and heavy foot traffic, but no paint is designed to take repeated barbell drops. Use lifting platforms or rubber mats in those areas.

Can I use it in a cold garage?

Only at 7°C or above, and never in freezing conditions. Below 20°C it takes longer to cure.

Can I use it near the garage door in sunlight?

The coating is not UV stable and can discolour in prolonged sunlight, so it suits interior floors best. Contact us if your floor gets a lot of direct sun.
