Description
A 304 stainless steel support plate that carries a flat-bottomed handrail on its bracket. The plate is fixed to the head of the bracket or support through its countersunk centre hole, then the rail sits on its flat top and is screwed down through the two end holes. It gives a timber, composite or flat bar rail a broad, neat seat with only the satin rounded ends showing. 64 x 24mm and 3.5mm thick. The price shown is for one plate, minimum order 10.

Why choose this support plate
Made for flat rails. The top is dead flat, so a square-edged or flat-bottomed timber rail sits on it without rocking and the screws pull it down tight. For round tube use a plate curved to the tube, such as the 304 support plate for 48.3mm tube.
Neat fixing. The centre hole is countersunk on top, so the screw into the bracket sits flush and the rail beds down flat. A 14.2mm recess on the underside helps the plate locate on the bracket head.
304 for indoors. 304 stainless suits stairs, landings, corridors and ramps inside buildings. For outdoor, coastal or pool-side rails choose the 316 flat support plate.

Fitting
Fix the plate to the head of the bracket or support with an M8 countersunk screw through the centre hole, so the screw head sits flush. Set the rail on the plate, check it runs true along the line of brackets, then pilot drill and screw up through the two 6.5mm holes into the underside of the rail with stainless wood screws, or bolt through a flat bar rail. Use one plate per bracket.
Care
Wipe with warm soapy water and dry. Avoid chlorine bleach, wire wool and scouring pads, which can mark the satin finish.

Is the price for one plate?
Yes, one support plate. The minimum order is 10, one per bracket for a typical run.
Will it fit a round tube handrail?
No. The top is flat for flat-bottomed rails. Use a plate curved to the tube size instead.
What screws do I need?
An M8 countersunk screw into the bracket, and two stainless screws up to 6mm into the rail. Screws are not included, as length depends on your bracket and rail.
Can I use it outside?
304 is best indoors. For outdoor or coastal rails choose the 316 flat plate.
