What does R11 slip rating mean?
R11 is a slip resistance rating defined by DIN 51130, the German industrial standard widely used across Europe and the UK for workplace safety flooring. R11 indicates a high level of anti-slip performance, suitable for environments where oil, grease, or water may be present on the floor. It is the second-highest rating available (below R13), making it ideal for commercial kitchens, workshops, factories, and industrial settings.
Can non-slip rubber flooring be cut to size?
Yes – our non-slip rubber flooring rolls can be easily cut to any length or shape using a sharp Stanley knife or carpet cutter. Simply measure your space, mark the cut line with chalk or a marker, and cut along a straight edge. The studded penny pattern surface makes it flexible and easy to handle during installation.
Is rubber flooring suitable for outdoor use?
Our non-slip rubber flooring rolls are UV-stabilised and weather-resistant, making them suitable for covered outdoor areas such as garage floors, workshops, and outdoor gym areas. However, for fully exposed outdoor areas subject to direct heavy rainfall, we recommend using drainage rubber matting designed specifically for outdoor wet environments.
What is the difference between 3mm and 6mm rubber flooring?
The 3mm option is lighter and more cost-effective, ideal for temporary installations, exhibition flooring, or light commercial use. The 6mm option provides superior comfort underfoot, better impact absorption, and is more durable for heavy-duty commercial and industrial environments with regular forklift or vehicle traffic. For high-footfall areas, 6mm is always the recommended choice.
Is this rubber flooring HSE compliant?
Yes – our non-slip rubber flooring rolls are HSE (Health and Safety Executive) compliant and meet the requirements of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992.
